Happy Face

These two young guys were coming down the roadway near a temple in Rawai. 

I heard the laughter before I actually saw them, so I turned around and waited for them to come around a corner. 

My camera caught their attention and they began to ham it up for me.

Rang Hill Butterfly

This photo was taken at Rang Hill, in Phuket town. 

On this day there had been a ceremony at the main statue, and this butterfly was very attracted to the flowers.

Nai Thon Framed

While strolling along the beach at Nai Thon, I spotted this couple posing for a beach photo. 

The angle I had gave me what I thought was a great opportunity to photograph people photographing each other. 

The umbrella stands and deck chairs just added to that feeling of them being "framed".

Wat Ladthiwanaram

Taken at night during the annual Loy Krathon festival. 

The temple grounds are located off of Chaofa Road East, near Chalong.

Taken from the most popular location in Phuket to watch the colourful sunsets 

at Promthep Point/Cape.

YG Dragonboats

Taken at the Thailand Youth Games, at Nai Harn lake, close to the community of Nai Harn and rawai on the southern tip of Phuket. I liked the colours and the obvious intensity.

Wat Chalong

This is a temple building at Wat Chalong, the largest temple grounds in Phuket. From here you have a view of Big Buddha and the temple grounds can be seen from the Big Buddha site as well!!

Siam Splash

This scene was taken at Siam Beach during monsoon season. It is a little known, small, private access beach, near the Kata-Karon lookout, in the southern area of Phuket

Old Door Phuket

The original old town centre of Phuket Town, is undergoing a retrofit and restoration of the Sino Portuguese architecture. This is just one of many such doorways.

Sushi

A photo taken at the fresh market, commonly known as the Weekend Market in Phuket Town. 

The textures and colours make this a vibrant photo to my eyes. The placement of the lightbulbs and the T shirt messages, I think add to the whole picture. Many who see this photo for the first time think that it is of cakes and cookies.

Pol-A-Mai

These fresh flower pol-a-mai are seen all over and sold to make offerings at various spirit houses. 

They are commonly found being sold by street vendors at major traffic intersections.

Rambutan

Orchid Man

This close-up with a standard lense of an orchid caught my attention because of the composition of what appeared to me to be the outline of a man, or even Mickey Mouse with very large ears!

Old Town Offering

This photo was taken during the annual Vegetarian Festival in Phuket Town.

I came across this scene of a man who makes wooden birdcages, with the offering table in the front of the shop, waiting for the particiapnts in the procession to give blessings.

I was pleased for the detail and how I managed to capture the man in background behind the swirling smoke.

Three Butterflies

This shot was taken above a running stream. The water is so clear it may take you a while to make out that there is actually running water about 3" deep below the butterflies. The shadows are distroted because of the angle of the sun, and then the distortion of 25% in the water.
