Big Buddha Sepia

This is the monument locally referred to as Big Buddha. It is located on the top of the hills west of Chalong. Standing 45 meters tall, it is a constant work in progress. It has been rare to be able to get a shot without some form of scaffolding. I often feel bad for people who make the trip all the way up there only to find it in scaffolding. At night the buddha is illuminated and you can see it in many places on the suth of the island. I was taken by the reflection and glare of the sun, and after I applied a sepia tint, I felt it made the monument feel warm and comforting, a feeling I get everytime I go to see him.
