Near the Phuket Zoo, in Chalong, is Palai Beach. You will find it literally at the end of the road if you continue past the zoo for about 3 Km. The beach is used for launching long tailed boats such as this one, primarily for the purpose of fishing. All along the beach are some of the finest seafood restaurants on the island.
When I took this photo I saw a great example of a weathered, seasoned longtail,
still plying the waters.
